It’s the Little Things…
Today was a stressful day. A tense day with a ‘Come to Jesus’ ultimatum and some surprising (and surprisingly painful) news. Driving home, though, I witnessed something unexpected that made me realize that sometimes you really have to appreciate the little things in life.
Living in a tourist destination, I am a stone’s throw from several theme parks and multiple hotels and resorts. While driving my usual route this evening, as the sun was setting, I passed by some nameless hotel just as they were turning on the exterior lights and it was unexpectedly lovely and magical to see how such a dull drab exterior was transformed when hundreds of twinkling lights suddenly appeared to envelop it.
It made me realize that there is always something lovely and unknown ready to meet you just around the corner. The trick is to allow yourself to notice and appreciate it.
